Two Minute Review: Uriage Eau Micellaire Thermale Make-up Remover Wipes
I loooove makeup wipes! <3 Probably because I’m lazy and I’m not afraid to admit it! 😛 They are so so handy to have lying around and while I wouldn’t recommend to use them as the primary way to take off makeup or cleanse, they are perfect for using after you get home from work, to refresh your skin and remove some of the makeup, pollution and grime from your skin right away. They also work in emergency situations, when you get home late and there’s no way in hell you can be bothered to complete your nightly cleansing routine (this probably happens to me more than I’d like to admit!). Makeup wipes can vary in efficiency quite greatly, so I thought I’d do a quick review of my newest find – Uriage’s Eau Micellaire Thermale Make-up Remover Wipes. I love micellaire water for cleansing, so these wipes held great promise in my eyes!
Uriage Thermal Micellar Waters are perfectly suited for removing make-up from all skin types, thanks to the unique properties of Uriage Thermal Water. The micelles’ gentle, non-ionic constituent surfactants act like magnets to effectively capture make-up and impurities. Enriched in Cranberry extract, this product moisturizes the skin, leaving it smooth and supple.

I expected the wipes to remove makeup well but gently, leave the skin feeling fresh, non-sticky and lightly moisturised. The wipes themselves are lightly dimpled in texture, which helps to pickup makeup and impurities from the skin. The wipes are soft, but aren’t the softest wipes I have ever used. They feel like standard cotton wipes. Makeup is removed quite well, but a full face of makeup will require two wipes because they are quite gentle (and won’t remove waterproof makeup for example). They aren’t also super damp and I have to admit the wetter wipes are and the thicker they are, the gentler they feel on my skin (this of course is a subjective preference). There is a floral fragrance to the wipes, so while they work to cleanse skin gently, I’m not sure they would suit sensitive skin. The scent actually lingers on the skin for a little while, which could bother those sensitive to fragrances. The wipes are noted as being suitable for dry-normal skin types. They don’t leave the skin sticky or very dry and tight afterwards, so that’s a most definite win!

They’re nice wipes, but not my favourite. I’d give them 3 out 5 starts in the ratings department. 1 star for being gentle, another for including some great ingredients in the formula (glycerin, thermal spring water and cranberry extract) and one more for not leaving the skin overly dry, wet or sticky. They loose some stars because they could remove makeup a little better, be more luxurious to the touch (by being thicker and a little more damp) and the fragrance can be a little overpowering. You get 25 wipes in a pack and they retail for $9.95 Aus dollars (you can find them at Adore Beauty online or pharmacies) which is quite a standard/reasonable price for a pack of wipes (anything less than $10 is quite cheap in my eyes, while wipes over the $10 mark are on the ‘higher end’ of the spectrum).

Have you tried any Uriage products beauties? Are you a fan of makeup remover/facial wipes? What do you look for in good wipes? 🙂
