Tea Revives You!

Everyone who follows my Facebook page (and if you don’t – you should!) knows how much I looove my tea 🙂 My favourites kinds are green and white tea. Today in the sunshine I’m savouring the taste of Sencha green tea. I wanted to come on and spread some warmth to those of you in the grips of winter!

Green tea has sooo many benefits, it’s almost ridiculous! From containing antioxidants (polyphenols like lavonoids & catchins) which protect cells within the body (essential for your skin!), speeding up your metabolism, protecting against cancer, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, killing different types of bacteria in you mouth so essentially helping fend off tooth decay  to helping prevent cardiovascular disease. Not bad eh? And I just like the taste 😀

Remember – don’t cover green tea leaves (or white tea for that matter) with boiling water. The water should be about 80 degrees, or just before boiling point. Otherwise you may burn some of the leaves and the tea will be more bitter. You also then loose some of the unique properties found in green tea. I know some tea packaging says to cover green tea leave with boiling water, but it’s always better to be safe and go with less hot water 🙂

What are you drinking today? Are you a tea fan?
