Review: Nudus Lip Euphoria in Revenge

I had my eye on this range of lipsticks for a while, because let’s face it, I’m ‘some what’ fickle and I loved the packaging as soon as I saw it 🙂 The white sleek lipstick casings and the sketch of a woman give the product an artisan feel. I also think they look quite sophisticated. Luckily, one fine day, I was gifted one of these special Nudus lipsticks. I love little niche artisan brands and while these lipsticks are hand crafted in Sydney, in small batches, the look and feel very professional and polished. You can tell my looking and by the feel of the lipsticks that they were created very carefully which I appreciate.

I wasn’t quite sure how the lipsticks themselves would perform, being cosmo-organic. Each ingredient in the lipstick was considered and chosen for a reason. Here is what Nudus say about their lipstick formulas:

I’m truly impressed by the lipstick formula. Usually the most pigmented lipsticks are super matte and dry – and while the formula may not be the most comfortable (and could probably survive a nuclear bomb explosion) they stick to your lips and stay put for hours and hours. What surprised me with this formula is that the lipstick is soooo incredibly rich and pigmented, just as much as say MAC’s Lady Danger or Ruby Woo lipsticks, but this Nudus lipstick goes on more like a satin lipstick would and I would say that it is also quite hydrating. It has that slight sheen to it and applies like butter. If anything, the formula is maybe perhaps toooo soft, because even after the first application, you start to see little dents within the lipstick bullet (just showing that the lipstick has been used). This doesn’t bother me per se, but I do wonder how it would hold up in super hot weather.

On my lips, the lipstick lasts a good 5-6 hours before it starts to fade slightly. And I mean only slightly. The lipstick with time looks a little more matte on the lips and if that’s the look you are going for right away, you can just blot the excess lipsticks from your lips right after application, to give you that matte finish. The colour I have which is Revenge, looks like a true classic red in the bullet, but it applies like a cherry red to the lips. I love the colour and I am just so impressed by the pigments in the lipstick, considering that they are all natural.

The lipsticks aren’t the cheapest, coming in at $42 AUD, however I think the price does reflect the quality of the product. From what I can tell from the Nudus website, they have 10 colours within their lipstick line. I do hope they expand and I hope that more people are able to try how fabulous they are!
