New Year, New Blog!

Dear Beauties,

It's been a little while, but I am back! With a new site and hopefully more thoughts to share with you all 😊

What a year 2020 was.... I consider myself 'one of the lucky ones' and despite this, it was a very difficult year. I had to take an unplanned break from blogging in order to deal with 'life' and not burn out. Covid happened. I was lucky to not lose my job (but of course I was worried that this might happen). My wedding was postponed, not once, but twice (it is now set to go ahead at the end of March). I moved houses and also dealt with some serious family issues. You can imagine as someone who suffers from migraines, that this only made them worse.

I've been blogging since 2013. That's a bloody long time.... I think I also needed a break in order to decide whether or not I enjoyed and missed blogging. It's my hobby, not a job. It can be disheartening after so many years, when your content improves (photography and writing) only to have your blog 'not grow'. Blogging has certainly become 'old fashioned' in a sense and even via Instagram, it is SO difficult if not impossible to grow your brand if you don't already have 200k plus followers (thanks for nothing Instagram!). It's not the social platform it used to be - it's all about sponsored content, ads and retail shopping. Unless I'm a blogger that's almost identical to all the other popular 'influencers', forget it. And this all is a little disheartening I must admit. It's difficult to get brands to work with you and provide you with products to trial. But despite all of this - I enjoy it 🥰🥰💖 I enjoy writing and taking creative photos. I think both my writing and photography skills have improved 1000 fold since 2013 LOL thankfully! 😅

Now that the dust is settling... and it's a brand new year, I'm ready to come back. I won't put pressure on myself to do too many posts a month, I have seriously needed and appreciated having more 'down time' for myself. I have also been spending less on skincare and makeup (yes, it is possible lol!). However, I want to review more beauty gadgets and technology for you Beauties. I want to be open to new products and content, however, stick to the basics first and foremost and not be sucked in to good marketing campaigns. Our hard earned money shouldn't be spent easily.

If there is anything that you would like to see on my little blog (content wise) let me know and I will do my best to accomodate requests 😊 OH and let me know how you like the new site, it was a mission to get it up and running, but I'm quite happy with where it is at atm.

Have a wonderful January Beauties, I have a good feeling about 2021 😉🥳🥳💛🧡💝
