Nails of the Day: Stroke of Brilliance & You Are Worth It

Another nail combination using Essie’s Stroke of Brilliance from their Luxeffects nail collection. I can’t get over the gorgeousness of the blue/grey sparkles and how incredibly shiny they are! <3 This time I paired Stroke of Brilliance with L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Le Vernis nail polish in no. 617 You Are Worth It (I’ve posted about this gorgeous grey before, check out that post here) and I think they go wonderfully together. The sparkles combined with a mid toned dove grey, give the sparkles a little bit more of a sophisticated look. This colour combination makes me think of the sea during the dead of winter when there isn’t much sun to be found and yet the sea still captivates you…

The first time I used Stroke of Brilliance (combined with a white nail polish, Alpine Snow), I didn’t think I needed a top coat for Stroke of Brilliance. This time I used Sally Hansen’s Salon Manicure Ultra-Wear top coat and it really did make a difference! The blue sparkles aren’t as ‘flat’ looking when you use a top coat and it makes them that tiny bit more sparkly to 🙂  You may as well go all out if you are going to wear sparkles (even if its a more subtle look).
