Nails of the Day: Avon’s Magic Effects Diamond Shatter & OPI’s Koala Bear-y

I haven’t worn nail polish for a while actually, mostly because I’ve lacked time. Yesterday however, I felt like my hands desperately needed some colour – so here we are! A few weeks ago I purchased Avon’s Magic Effects Diamond Shatter and I wanted to finally give it a go. What I love about it, is that it’s  clear polish with small cellophane like pieces, which reflect multicoloured light. Because the cellophane pieces are quite small and irregular, it’s not OTT. I suspect the ‘diamond shatter’ would also look different on different coloured nail polish, so next time, I think I will try pairing it with some nude nails (and then perhaps paint it on each nail for a subtle – yet noticeable effect.  Today however, I have paired it with a berry polish from OPI – Koala Bear-y 🙂 What do you think?

Once you paint the Diamond Shatter on your nails, definitely paint a clear top coat polish over the top. the Diamond Shatter polish itself isn’t to shiny – so to get the full effect, you need a reflective top coat to help it out. I really love the effect! And so easy peasy!

In the last Avon brochure, the Magic Effects Diamond Shatter was $15, which isn’t to bad at all! 😉
