Nails of the Day and New Year Sparkle*
Hi beauty bees! I hope all of you lovelies have had a fabulous holiday season! I took a little break from beauty bee over the new years period – just to brain storm and come up with some ideas for posts 🙂 I can’t believe I am coming up to my 100th post (this is post no. 91) so I have some special plans for that mile stone (*giveaway* cough cough*). If there is any particular post you would like to see in regards to skin care or makeup – just give me a buzz and let me know 🙂
I try and not do the whole new years ‘resolution’ thing, but I have to admit that it is a good time for reflection and trying to polish up some good habits. One of those for me this year will be trying to use more of the makeup and beauty products that I already own. We buy so much these days and there are always new goodies coming out, so it’s almost like an endless battle. I feel like I don’t appreciate most of the products that I do own, so I will try and turn that around this year. So stay tuned for more posts on goodies which may not be brand spankin’ new – but are just as good if not better 🙂 Have you started any new beauty resolutions this year?

I did buy two nail polish’s over the new year period (I know I know!) and I am most in looooove with this particular colour from OPI – Koala Bear-y. This is one of the only nail polishes that I can get away with painting only one coat over my nails, without it looking streaky or ‘undone’ somehow. The colour is so opaque, shiny and gorgeous, it may be the best OPI nail polish formula that I have tried to date. Oh – and I haven’t even mentioned the shade yet! It reminds me of the most delicious summer raspberries! Funnily enough, I have been stuffing my face with raspberries at the moment as they are in season here in Aus. It’s still a bright pink shade, but with a slight berry-purple undertone – so not your standard fuchsia pink. And the name obviously reminds me of Koalas which is another bonus 🙂 Here’s a picture just so we can appreciate the cuteness of these creatures!

And the nail polish in all it’s glory!

I am wearing Sally Hansen’s Mega Shine top coat in the above pic – but Koala Bear-y itself has a super shiny gloss finish, so any top coat should just amplify the shine factor. I bought my bottle from ebay and there is still more available (here) if you are interested in picking one up. I have a feeling I will be wearing this A LOT this January 🙂

My favourite way to eat raspberries? With good quality extra-creamy vanilla ice-cream 🙂 the vanilla isn’t overly sweet, so balances the tartness of raspberries and brings out their sweetness.

Do you have a favourite way of eating berries? 🙂
I hope you have enjoyed this post and stay tuned for what’s coming up in the new year 🙂 Don’t forget to join me on facebook for more fun antics and beauty talk 😀
Until next time,
Beauty Bee~
