My Favourite Lip Balms

These lip balms go with me everywhere!

I started using Carmex back in high school when my dermatologist recommended it to me (I was anti acne medication which made my lips crack and made them super dry – pretty painful actually) and nothing works as well to heal them. I always buy the tube because it has the most product in it, however, I think with summer coming up I’ll buy the Carmex that comes in wind up stick as those have a spf of 15. I would prefer a lip balm with a higher spf for summer, but a lot of lip balms which contain spf 30 are very drying… It costs around $5/6 for 10g (Aus). The Carmex that comes in a little pot costs the same but comes with 7.5g of product. Strange huh? I buy mine from the chemist 🙂

The pink tube is Lanolips 101 Ointment. It contains medical grade lanolin so it’s not smelly. It also holds up to 200% of its weight in moisture so it’s super hydrating. I also like that it’s an Australian brand 🙂 Lanolin is the oil that’s extracted from sheep’s wool incase your wondering. Sounds a little gross, but it’s all natural and has no smell or colour, so you get over that fact once you start using it! It’s a little more expensive than say your regular lip balm coming in at $17-$18 (Aus), but it comes with 17.5ml of product, which is a fair amount. You can also use it anywhere your skin is especially dry, so it’s great to have in winter.

The last lip blam is the Nivea lip butter in Vanilla & Macadamia. It’s pretty decent actually, but what I love most about it is the scent! You know what it reminds me of? Kinder chocolate!!! I loooove Kinder chocolate, it remind me of my childhood 🙂 You can buy the chocolate in little bars or it’s the chocolate used for Kinder Surprise eggs. The scent of this lip balm isn’t to overpowering or artificial either. My mum has the original lip butter which doesn’t technically have a scent or flavour. I bought mine for $5 for 16.7 g (Aus).
