Olay Regenerist Retinol24 Night Serum and Eye Cream

Vitamin A (aka retinol) is my favourite skincare ingredient hands down! It does almost everything you could wish for - it exfoliates skin (unblocking pores, so perfect for those of us who deal with acne), it lightens pigmentation, it repairs skin damage (be it sun damage or wrinkles), refines skin texture, firms, reduces inflammation and protects skin from further damage. AND all those effects are well studied and documented! 🎉🎉🎉 I generally speaking like to use retinoids

    July Favourites

Happy August beauties! Another month is down and another begins. I can’t say July was terrible, it had it’s ups and it’s downs like every month. August will be interesting because it’s the beginning of a new academic semester so I will go back to teaching again (which I do enjoy) and my boyfriend will  be away on a trip for most of the month (90% of the month actually) which will be different (I don’t want to sound pathetic now haha). It’s also starting to warm up in Sydney w

    Recreate: Work Look Inspiration

I posted this gorgeous photo up in one of my very first posts. I wanted to recreate it since it was so simply so beautiful! Here’s a refresher on the original look – And my recreation of the look 🙂 I didn’t use any eyeshadow, instead was focused on recreating a fresh luminous base without to many competing colours. I also didn’t use any blush, just some bronzer to contour with. I did use some mascara, and to look even more awake, I thought that adding a light blue to my wate

Review: Weirdest Mascara Wand Ever. Lancome Hypnôse Mascara.

I have quite long lashes already, so I generally stick to volumising mascaras (and I always use a lash primer – can’t hurt!) and the weird thing is that I’ve bought this mascara before and I didn’t think it was too bad, in fact, I thought it was quite good. Now the brush was always tricky, didn’t quite understand the concept, but the formulation was good. Lengthened, but also volumised. Easy! Well not so much. See the brush is curved and I always use it with the curve pointin

    Inspiration: POW POW!

This image is my wallpaper at the moment. Isn’t it gorgeous??? For some reason it makes me think of some Jewel lyrics from her song Intuition – “I’m just a simple girl, in a high-tech digital world.” It also reminds me of superheroes… A kick-ass pink would knock anyone off their feet, POW POW! Review: Erborian CC Creme

I’ve been a bit ‘suss’ of BB, CC and DD cream (yes DD creams do exist! *Shakes head*). Mainly because I believe that if a product claims to ‘do it all’ then it doesn’t do one thing particularly well. I like my base to look very natural and luminous, hence this CC cream suckered me in. This is what the Erborian website says about the product: “Creme HD a la Centella Asiatica by Erborian is the first ‘high definition’ radiance skin perfector and treatment in one, made in Korea.

    Sunshine!

It was finally super sunny in Sydney! The sun was out, there was a super blue sky and it felt like spring was on its way 🙂 Here are some snapshots from my garden 🙂 The third photo is of Jasmine flowers. They haven’t all started to bloom yet, but they are getting there slowly! They remind me of my school days, when in the mornings on my way to school I had to walk past our big gum tree (eucalyptus tree) in the front yard. The Jasmine flowers were growing up the tree and the

    When in doubt, wear red.

So I woke up today feeling awful. More mentally awful then anything else. It was soooo cold, rainy and dreary I just wan’t to hide under my bed covers and not come out. Alas, I needed to be at work.. Don’t you wish you could take a mental health day off work? So I thought that maybe wearing my favourite colour would help brighten some of the day ahead. I think it worked a bit 🙂 I’m still having trouble taking ‘selfies’ and not being self-conscious about it, so I just took so

Product Review: Almay Oil-Free Makeup Eraser Sticks

Bzzzz welcome beauty enthusiasts! Today I have a product review for you – Almay oil-free makeup eraser sticks ($10 Aus monies). I always keep these with me in my everyday makeup bag. They are really handy for travel or for when you venture out (in case you get stuck in a torrential downpour or any other pickles!). No matter what mascara I wear, I almost always get little smudges of mascara on my brow bone or under my eyes. I think it’s because I have quite long lashes natural

    Cosmoceuticals

Cosmoceutical skincare products are my favourite skincare products. Because I had A LOT of problems with my skin growing up, I had the good fortune of seeing a dermatologist from a young age. This has made very aware of the health and issues I have with my skin, but also products which are scientifically proven to work (thanks to tried and tested dermatological grade ingredients). I bet a lot of you are yawning already thanks to my ranting, so let me further entertain you wit
